Oceans
Over the past 150 years, all types of wastes have been dumped into the oceans. This includes sewage, trash, and garbage. These contaminants enter the ocean thru rivers and pipeline discharges.

Unfortunately, the ocean has become the ultimate dumping ground for people. Over the past 50 years, it has been recognized that the oceans are under serious threats from the wastes being discharged there.

The detrimental effects of ocean dumping are visible on beaches and are killing fish and mammals. Affected areas include recreational fishing, beaches, resorts, and human health. The U.S. has tried to address these problems with laws and regulations i.e. The Ocean Dumping Act (ODA), the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, and the Clean Water Act (CWA).

This is why "Throwawayz^TM" was created. Now, used tampon materials can be placed into a Biodegradable Bag and thrown away into the trash. No more flushing tampons into the sewage system and letting them enter our oceans.

By putting the used tampon materials into this bag, it will then be discarded into the garbage and end up in a landfill.

Statistics have shown that on average, a female uses twice as much toilet paper as a male does. During their menstrual cycle, females use approximately 1 extra roll of toilet tissue to dispose of used tampons.

When a tampon is discarded, the female wraps the used tampon in wads of toilet tissue and then Flushes it down the toilet. This is Not very good for our environment.

The average female would use about 450 rolls of toilet paper in their lifetime just on tampon disposal alone. That number translates to about 9.5 trees used per female. Based on that fact the 125 million menstruating females in the U.S., will find that over 380 million trees will be cut down, turned into toilet paper, and used for tampon disposal over the next 35-40 years (avg. menstruating lifetime). So how do we save all of these trees and better our environment?
